New stuff: a friend just gave me a bottle of the Hudson New York Corn White Whiskey. Right up my alley, but not a particularly good white dog. I much prefer those from Buffalo Trace, Whistle Pig and the not-on-the-market Warwick Valley Winery rye white dog I made in the class I took. That is where I learned my love of white whiskey with its clean yeasty goodness with its back note of a hint of cocoa, mainly coming from rye. The depth of rye is unparalleled, but the corn has an almost singular layer of burn with a yeasty biscuity nose and a clean flavor that is yeasty, but drinks smooth for a 46% spirit.
Posting is few and far between due to my lack of a soul. Where I have been for the past 3 years, my soul and very being has been smothered. I need to make a move, in my career and my location to something that inspires me and makes me a better person. A new scene would give things a new look and make life exciting again. I think things will be better in the coming months, renewing my passion, making me care about my tools more and making life more exciting.
In this blog I hope, in the future, to enhance the link between drinks of all bases, shapes and sizes with that of common experience and hopefully entertain with a developing writing style. any constructive criticism is appreciated and in the comments, leave anything you want me to look into, because I want to be able to learn about what others are thinking about and trends in the open market and also be able to learn about things I don't know anything about and be able to research and inform in a fun and informative way in likely non-rambling run-on sentences like this one. WARNING: this generally happens after i have had a few, so truth will win out over almost anything, so if there is any sensitivity on a subject, I will likely be as blunt as any of you know me to be about a subject.
SO. Give me something to think on and write about.
